Do high school students need a diploma or GED to begin the programs?
No! Unlike most programs that require a diploma or GED to begin, Preppy allows your students to begin learning while they’re currently finishing their high school education! Students can begin the online coursework and can complete that portion of the training prior to their graduation. Once the student has received their high school diploma or completed their GED, they can then complete the final steps of their program and be placed with their externship for on-site training and experience, and sit for their certification exam.
Can students take these courses independently, or do they need a classroom setting with a mentor or teacher?
You have both options! Our courses are designed to be taken independently online, with no additional support resources required from the high school or staff. Our curriculum and learning is completely immersive and self-paced, and we provide 24/7 student support resources for any issues your students may encounter. Students are also provided a laptop so they have all of the tools required to take the course. However, if you prefer a classroom based setting where a collection of students will be taking these courses together through the help of a teacher or mentor, that option is available as well!
Is this program through the accredited college?
Yes! Preppy is unique in that we offer an affordable program through our partner, Auburn University, an accredited non-profit institution with a 150 year heritage. Your students will take the program through their Office of Professional and Continuing Education and will receive a certificate of completion from the university that they can proudly hang on their wall.
