Frequently Asked Questions

Our mission is simple… make career and certification training affordable and accessible for everyone.

Getting Started & Enrollment

Signing up is easy. Just visit the program page, click “Get Access,” choose your payment option, and complete enrollment. You’ll receive your login details by email on the same day you enroll, so you can start right away.

No — there are no set start dates. You can start anytime, and you’ll have up to one year to complete the course.

The program is self-paced, and you’ll have up to one year to complete it. Most students finish in about 4–6 months, but you’re free to move faster or slower based on your schedule.

Most externships require a minimum total of 40 hours, completed part-time. Depending on the facility, your availability, and the program, those 40 hours are typically spread over 2–6 weeks. Externships are unpaid and voluntary, and schedules are coordinated to fit both you and the facility — so in most cases, you won’t need to leave your current job.

There’s no minimum or maximum age to take the course. However, students must be at least 18 years old to participate in an externship or job-readiness support.

Yes. We welcome students from around the world. Our programs follow U.S. guidelines and prepare you for national exams in the United States. Please note that externships are only available within the U.S., and we’re unable to ship laptops or books internationally.

Program availability and certification acceptance can vary by state. In most cases, our courses can be completed nationwide, and the certifications are widely accepted across the U.S. However, there are some exceptions depending on the program and state (for example, Phlebotomy in California).

We’re happy to check your state case by case — just reach out, and we’ll help confirm availability.

Program Experience & Learning

Tutoring requests are handled through our Support team. When approved, tutoring is typically provided in three 1-hour sessions at a time.

Sometimes lessons won’t advance until all slides have been viewed. If you get stuck, we’ll walk you through the process — and if needed, we can take a look inside your profile to help identify what’s missing.

If you’re having login issues, we can help you reset your password and make sure your credentials are working. If the issue continues, we’ll connect you with our Support team to get it resolved as quickly as possible

If you don’t see your welcome email, double check your spam folder and the email address you used to enroll. We can also check your enrollment status on our end. If the issue continues, we’ll loop in Support to get everything sorted.

Externship & Career Preparation

Congratulations on completing the program! 🎉 Once you’re finished, contact our Support team at support@edu2.com and let them know you’ve completed your coursework. After your balance is cleared, you’ll receive a completion email with next steps, including the forms to begin the externship process and receive your certificate of completion from Auburn University.

Yes! After you complete your lessons and clear your balance, you’ll receive a few forms to complete (such as a background check). From there, an Externship Coordinator will reach out to help set up your externship. They’ll look at options near you, work with your schedule, and do their best to accommodate your preferences.

Externships are typically arranged near your home, usually within a 30-mile radius, and may take place in a clinic or hospital. While externships are not mandatory, they’re a great way to gain real-world experience in your field.

Most externships require a minimum of 40 hours, usually completed part-time. Depending on the facility, your availability, and the program, those hours may be spread over 2–6 weeks. Externships are unpaid and voluntary, and schedules are coordinated to fit both you and the facility — so in most cases, you won’t need to leave your current job.

If you have questions about paperwork or your externship status, our Support team is happy to help and can check next steps for you.

Externship locations aren’t predetermined — each student is placed individually. Once you finish your lessons, an Externship Coordinator will reach out to review options near you, and help build a schedule that works for you. You’re welcome to share location or facility preferences, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Once we receive your completion request, it’s forwarded to our Support team, who will email you with next steps and the forms needed to begin the externship process. Your certificate is typically ready within 8–9 weeks.

Pricing, Payment, & Financial Questions

  • Program pricing varies by course. Most programs are either:
    • $1,599 if paid in full, or $299/month for 6 months, or

    • $2,599 if paid in full, or $499/month for 6 months

You’ll see the exact price for your program during enrollment, so there are no surprises.

We don’t accept traditional financial aid or student loans. Instead, we’ve designed our programs to be simple, affordable, and all-inclusive, so you can move forward without taking on student debt. Flexible payment plans are also available to help make getting started easier.

We offer one standard payment plan, but we may be able to provide some flexibility. If you enroll online and make the initial payment, our team can sometimes spread the remaining balance into lower monthly payments.

For example, a $299/month plan may be adjusted after enrollment, and $499/month plans may also have flexible options. Once you register, just send us a note, and we’ll do our best to help.

Yes — we’re flexible and happy to help. Whether you need to postpone a payment, update your payment method, pay ahead, or check your balance, our team can assist. Just reach out and we’ll help you find the best solution.

If you’re having trouble paying in full at checkout, we can help. In some cases, you may be able to split the pay-in-full price into two payments, which still gives you the best price and includes the laptop.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to the course page, and select the payment plan option.
  2. Send a message to Support after enrolling, letting us know about the situation.
  3. We’ll then charge an additional $500 (so that your total is $799), and update your account so you receive the laptop.

We’ll post the final payment the following month.

Certification exam fees are not included. Keeping exam costs separate helps us offer programs that are as affordable as possible, without requiring student loans or added fees.

Once we receive your cancellation request, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a quick follow-up call, usually by the next business day.

Technology & Materials

Yes — if you choose the pay-in-full option, a laptop is included. It’s typically a Chromebook, and specs may vary based on availability. Laptops usually arrive within 2–3 weeks of enrollment.

If you select the payment plan, a laptop isn’t included — but you can complete the program on any device with internet access.

You’ll receive all the eBooks you need to complete the course.

We’re happy to help with any questions about your course materials — including whether materials are physical or digital, and when you’ll get access. If you have a specific question about your program’s materials, just reach out, and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Extensions, Refreshers & Timing

Yes. We offer a free 3-month extension if you need a little extra time to finish. If you still need more time after that, you can purchase an additional 6-month extension.

After completing your course, you’ll have 6 months to begin your externship or job assistance. If more than 6 months pass, a paid refresher course is required to regain access. Once that’s set up, our Support team will provide your updated course access.

We don’t offer a standalone refresher course. However, our full program can be used as a refresher, and it’s self-paced — so you can move quickly through material you already know and spend more time reviewing what you need.

Certifications, Exams, & Outcomes

Each program prepares you for specific national certification exams, which are outlined on the program page. For detailed exam requirements — such as eligibility, required documents, diploma acceptance (including international or homeschooling diplomas), or retake policies — we recommend checking directly with the certifying organization, as requirements can vary.

Certifying organizations like AAPC don’t publicly share official pass rate data. That said, many of our students report strong outcomes and exam success after completing the program. You can also explore real student experiences and results on our student reviews page: https://deals.preppy.org/preppy-student-reviews

Preppy is a training program, while the CPC is a certification exam. Many students choose Preppy because it offers a more complete, flexible path to becoming job-ready.

Here’s why:

  • Prep for multiple certifications — including AAPC’s CPC, NHA’s CBCS, NWCA, and more

  • Hands-on externship opportunities to gain real-world experience

  • More affordable pricing with flexible payment options

  • A Certificate of Completion from Auburn University, an accredited nonprofit university

  • A laptop included with the pay-in-full option

  • A faster, self-paced format so you can move forward sooner

Our mission is to make career certifications more accessible, affordable, and achievable — so you’re prepared, confident, and ready for what’s next.

The program is not ABA-approved. However, it’s offered through Auburn University, a great school with name recognition that can be more valuable in some job markets than an ABA-approved program. Upon completion, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion from Auburn University and be prepared to take the NALA certification exam to become a Certified Paralegal.

Accreditation & University Partnership

Certificates are provided through Auburn University, located in Auburn, Alabama. Auburn University is an accredited institution, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Preppy is an education organization focused on making career certifications more affordable and accessible. We partner with Auburn University to offer select programs that include university-backed curriculum and a Certificate of Completion from Auburn University’s Office of Professional and Continuing Education (OPCE).

You’re welcome to choose the program that feels right for you
