Because Preppy isn’t a college or university, this program isn’t eligible for institutional accreditation.
Instead, the focus is on helping you prepare for widely recognized EKG technician exams — something many employers prioritize along with demonstrated skills.
It’s a good idea to check job listings in your area to see what employers are looking for.
This program is designed to prepare students for industry-recognized EKG technician certification exams, such as:
Certification eligibility requirements are set by the credentialing organizations. Be sure to review exam requirements directly through NHA, NWCA, or the appropriate certifying body before scheduling your exam.
To be eligible for the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam, you must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and have completed a training program within the last five years (or have one year of supervised work experience). You’ll also need to document completion of at least 10 EKG tests performed on live individuals.
No, certification exam fees are not included in the cost of the program.
Students register and pay for certification exams directly through the certifying organization (such as NHA).
Externship opportunities may be available based on your location and the participation of local facilities.
While we offer guidance and support throughout the process, placement is not guaranteed and can vary by region.
Externship length varies based on the hosting organization and your availability. There is no fixed universal timeframe.
Details are typically arranged directly with the participating facility.
Most learners complete the EKG Technician program in 3–6 months. Because it’s fully self-paced, you can progress at a speed that works best for your schedule.
